Hot, hot, hot!

Here and in most of the US it is hot, over 100 degrees here with killer humidity.  But, the good news is my sun pickles are cooking fast and should be done today.  They reach temperatures just shy of 150F in the sun which is amazing.  Guess that is why solar cookers work so well – it is hot out there!

My tip for the day:  when you harvest turnips, be sure to shake them a little bit before bringing them in. I didn’t do that on Wednesday and ended up with two very large green grasshoppers in my kitchen.  Boy are they tough to catch!
